A giant bow to start playing with color

Chibi anime baby with a bow coloring page

If you enjoy coloring chibi characters, try this seated girl with a huge hair bow, expressive eyes, a T-shirt and rounded shoes. Download the JPG and print it at home. I would start with the bow’s color, then use it to guide the palette for the hair and clothes.

The drawing already has gray shading. You can let it show through a light layer of color; there is no need to cover every line.

If you are unsure where to begin, start with the bow and leave the small details until last.

A few colors, many combinations

Choose a small palette for this chibi girl

To keep the details manageable, I would choose two main colors and one darker shade for the shadows.

For example, try a pink bow, light-brown hair and a soft-blue T-shirt. For a brighter look, switch to turquoise and yellow. Repeating a color from the bow in the sleeves or a small detail on the shoes helps tie everything together. These are starting ideas; choose any combination you like.

Before coloring the whole page, test your pencils on scrap paper. To compare shades, explore the Colored Pencil Atlas.

Go at your own pace

How to color the bow, face and clothes

This character has large areas to get started and smaller ones for careful practice. You do not need to finish it in one sitting.

The bow and hair

Start with a light layer on the bow, leaving a small light area where you want the highlight. Follow the direction of the hair strands and slightly darken the areas beneath the bow and beside the tied-up sections.

Eyes and cheeks

The eyes are large, so try two shades of the same color: a lighter one near the bottom and a darker one above. Preserve the white highlights. A gentle touch on the cheeks is enough to add expression.

T-shirt and shoes

Color the larger parts of the T-shirt first, then deepen the folds already shown in gray. Use a slightly darker shade along the lower edges of the shoes to suggest their rounded shape. Leave the smallest details until last.

If you are coloring with children, they can start with the bow and T-shirt and return to the hair and eyes later. If an area looks uneven, that is fine: a second light layer often brings the color together better than pressing hard from the start.

Download and print the drawing

The page shows a WebP preview. The download buttons save the same JPG: 896 × 1344 pixels.

Center the drawing and keep its original proportions. Check the print preview so the bow and shoes are not cropped or stretched. Use paper supported by your printer and suited to your coloring materials; test the printed ink before adding wet media.
