Three ways to start
Which colors would you choose for her dress?
I would choose one color for the fabric and another for the flowers. Repeating a small accent in the hair decoration helps bring the outfit together.
Pink and sage green
A soft pink skirt with cream flowers and sage green leaves creates a calm mood. Try chestnut hair with a little ochre in the highlights.
Blue and coral
Try light blue on the dress and coral on the petals. Reserve darker blue for the folds, gradually building on the drawing’s existing shadows.
Lavender and yellow
Lavender fabric and soft yellow flowers make a cheerful combination. Leave the dress border cream to help its decorations stand out.
Each part has its own rhythm
Take your time with the braid and petals
You do not need to color every line. A light base and a few well-placed shadows can give the hair and flowers shape.
Follow each lock
Move the pencil along the curve of each braided section. Darken where one lock tucks beneath the next, leaving a light band through the center.
Separate the petals
Start with a light layer. Add more color near the flower’s center and where one petal sits behind another.
Give the skirt some breathing room
Color the fabric around the floral motifs first. Then use a sharp point on the decorations; leave very small ones light if you prefer.
The earrings, bracelets, and bow can share one shade. With so many details, a white or barely tinted background is usually enough.

Print the complete doll
Save the drawing and check in print preview that the flower and shoes are visible. The “fit to page” option helps preserve the margins.
