A bunny in cream, pink and gentle browns
soirolaba_scrap hand-colored this page with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils on 150 gsm Lefranc Bourgeois Drawing paper. The heart’s pink repeats in the bow and fabric, while brown strokes shape the fur and basket.

Finished coloring: CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. Read the credits and sharing conditions.
Three details to look at
- Pale fur with visible strokes
The cheeks and muzzle retain very light areas. Brown strokes follow the forehead and face edges without hiding the cream base.
- Pink flowing through the drawing
The polka-dot bow, heart and fabric squares share pink tones. Small white spaces help each detail remain distinct.
- A basket that feels wooden
The browns follow the vertical pieces and darken near their edges. The gray bands at the top and bottom stay separate from the wood.

Another idea for your version
Another palette for the heart and fabric
The Atlas creative palette “Antique tea set” combines very pale yellow, hibiscus pink and ochre with blues and greens. Try the light shades on the fur, pink on the heart and ochre on the basket; blue offers another option for the fabric. This is a Luminance alternative, not the Polychromos selection soirolaba_scrap used.

From the first layer to the finishing touches
How to color the bunny, heart and basket
Start with the light areas and save dark shades for last. Gentle layers let you test the intensity without covering small details.
Keep light in the fur
Give the face and ears a light cream layer. Add short brown strokes in the direction of the fur and keep the muzzle and cheek centers lighter.
Connect the details with pink
Color the heart, bow and some fabric strips. Leave the bow’s polka dots uncovered and reserve a small light area at the top of the heart.
Finish the wood and shadows
Follow the basket’s vertical pieces with two browns. Darken the edges slightly and add a soft shadow underneath to ground it.
Four tips to bring the drawing to life
THE FUR
Draw in the direction of the fur
Make short strokes from the forehead toward the cheeks. Use light pressure and leave pale gaps between the lines to keep the face soft.
THE HEART
A small highlight
Reserve a light area near the upper edge and deepen the pink beside the paws. The difference helps the heart look rounded.
THE FABRIC
Checks that look like fabric
Color a few strips gently first. Where they cross, add another layer with the same pencil. Darken slightly near the basket edge to suggest the fold.
THE BASKET
Alternate light and dark
Keep the center of each piece a little lighter than its edges. Preserve a highlight on the gray bands and avoid outlining all the wood in black.
Do I have to color the bunny like the example?
No. Leave the fur almost white, make it gray or swap the pink for lavender. Test two or three shades first so the heart, fabric and basket remain distinct.
If you would like to practice first, find more ideas in the colored pencil learning guides.
