Kawaii witch girl with a blue hat, lilac hoodie and blonde hair, colored in pencil by nievesfeg
Hand-colored by nievesfeg. Base illustration by Javier Origin, created using AI and digital editing. Coloring license: CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

From outline to color

Blues and lilacs for a sweet-looking little witch

This is how nievesfeg interpreted the witch girl in a hoodie from this collection: a blue hat, lilac clothes and light hair that brightens her face. The ochre bag adds warm contrast without drawing attention away from her face.

An idea to try in your version

Leave a light band on the hat and in the center of the hoodie. Add gentle layers beside the folds to give the clothes form while keeping that delicate feeling. In the hair, follow the strands and preserve a few light gaps between strokes.

Materials used by nievesfeg

Faber-Castell Polychromos

  • 183 Light Yellow Ochre
  • 186 Terracotta

You do not need the same pencils: choose a blue, a lilac and an ochre from your set, and test how they work together on a scrap of paper.

How to color witches: hair, fabrics and magical effects

Plan the lighting and main colors first. Add patterns, smoke and highlights once the figure has form.

Hair in sections

Separate large groups, preserve a band of light and darken beneath the hat.

2

Different fabrics

Use soft shadows on the dress and defined reflections on boots, belts and buckles.
