Drawing to print and color
Kawaii cat with a bow tie coloring page
Download this free printable kawaii cat with a bow tie coloring page as a JPG. Its big eyes and striped tail give it a friendly look. It is an easy cat to color, with broad areas for starting with just a few colors.
Would you also like to draw it yourself? Below you will find my tutorial for building it step by step from simple shapes.

Get your paper and pencils ready
How to download and print the cat
Save the original JPG and open it in your image viewer. To print on A4, choose portrait orientation and “Fit to page”. Check that the ears, tail and signature stay within the margins.
For pencils, I would choose paper with some texture. For markers, use suitable paper and a protective sheet underneath. Check the paper weight your printer supports.
The drawing’s gray lines can guide your shadows.
Three combinations to try
Ideas for coloring this kawaii cat
I would choose the fur color first, then a different color for the bow tie. Try these combinations or invent your own.
Peach, orange and blue
Try a peach base, deepen the tail stripes with orange and color the bow tie blue. Keep the muzzle and part of the chest lighter.
Gray, cream and pink
Light gray works well for the fur. Save cream for the chest and soft pink for the ear interiors and bow.
Lavender, purple and mint
Use lavender as the base and purple on the stripes. A mint green bow tie gives it a different touch without needing many pencils.

How I would start
Soft fur and a bow tie that stands out
Start with the head and body. Leave the whiskers, paws and bow folds until last.
From the first oval to the finished cat
Would you rather learn to draw it?
My tutorial guides you through ten steps, from the first oval to the eyes, bow tie and whiskers, with an image at each stage.
Follow the tutorial with a pencil, paper and eraser. The coloring page and tutorial offer two ways to practice: coloring the image or building your own version from scratch.
Make your own version
Draw it on another sheet, changing the expression or bow tie. Then compare the two versions.

Is the download a JPG or a PDF?
Download the original JPG or choose the ready-to-print A4 and US Letter PDFs in the Download and Print section below.
Is it suitable for children and beginners?
The broad areas of the head and body let you start with just a few colors. Children can leave the small details unshaded, while adults can practice layers and volume.
Why are some lines gray?
The gray lines are part of the image. Use them as a guide for placing shadows and apply color in soft layers.
