How to download and print this page
The composition is horizontal: the wings extend on either side, and the tail balances the movement. The background is blank so you can add clouds, stars or a moon. If you prefer to focus on the character, a very soft blue halo around it can also suggest the sky.
- Click Download the flying chibi dragon JPG and save the original file to your device. If your browser opens the image, use its save-image option.
- Open the saved JPG and choose A4 paper in landscape orientation. Select “Fit to page” and check that the whole drawing stays within the margins.
- Print in black and white. For sharper lines, try a slightly smaller size within the sheet instead of enlarging the image.

Three color ideas for this drawing
Follow one of these combinations or mix the parts you like from each. Test the shades on a separate sheet before applying them to the drawing.
Mint green and yellow
Try mint on the body and light yellow on the tummy. Add a stronger green near the feet and at the base of the tail.
Blue and coral
Pair a blue body with coral wings. Keep the muzzle lighter so the smile remains the focal point.
Pink and lavender
A soft pink base with lavender wings enhances the chibi look. Use purple only in a few shadows to avoid making it too dark.
Coloring tips
Shiny eyes and wings in motion
Color the body first with a light layer. Work around the eyes without covering the white highlights.
Distinguish the wing membranes with a lighter color than their edges. Follow each section from the base to the tip.
Add shadow beneath the head and where the feet join the body. Keep the upper side of the tail a little lighter to create volume.
To practice layers and shadows before starting, follow the tips in Learn to color.

Before you start coloring
How can I add a background without taking attention away from the dragon?
Draw a few softly outlined clouds or apply light blue away from the face. Keeping a small white gap around the wings helps separate the character from the background.
Can I download the drawing on my phone?
Yes. Tap the download button and save the JPG. If it opens on another screen, press and hold the image and choose save or download; the option’s name depends on your browser. Then send it to your printer.
