soirolaba_scrap · Lapiceros Unidos
A little mouse in soft colors with rosy ears
In the version by soirolaba_scrap, gray strokes define the tufts without dimming the light on the face. Pink ears, cheeks and paws complement the tiny kitten pendant. This hand-colored piece is part of the Lapiceros Unidos community.

What to notice in this version
- Tufts that retain the white
Gray strokes define the edges of the head and body. The light spaces between them create the impression of fine fur.
- Small pink accents
Pink repeats in the ears, cheeks, tail and paws, keeping the overall color scheme delicate.
- The pendant still stands out
The kitten is tiny and pale. Its outline and dark details are enough to make it recognizable against the little belly.

Another combination for your version
A Creative palette for the mouse’s fur
The “Storm horse” palette in the Atlas’s Creative section combines grays with earthy shades, violet and indigo. Although designed for another animal, its grays suit this little mouse’s fur. Try the other colors in small details for a higher-contrast version. This is an alternative; soirolaba_scrap’s actual materials are listed with the example.

Open “Storm horse” in the Atlas’s Creative section
Start with a very light layer of 270, then add 233 following the tufts. Save indigo for small shadows; test the violet and earthy accents on a separate sheet first.

Start with just a few layers
How to color this kawaii mouse’s fur
These tips are suggestions for your own version. Test your pencils on a separate sheet before working on the small areas.
- 1
Keep the light areas
Keep the forehead, muzzle and belly light. A very gentle cream or ivory can add warmth without obscuring the drawing.
- 2
Follow the tufts
Use a sharp point to make short strokes in the direction of the fur. Gradually add gray beneath the ears, beside the arms and around the edges of the body.
- 3
Finish with pink and details
Apply pink gently to the ears and cheeks. Leave the whiskers, cord and tiny kitten until last.
Light fur
Do not fill every gap
Alternate short gray strokes with untouched paper. Darkening only selected areas helps preserve the mouse’s soft appearance.
Shiny eyes
Preserve the white highlights
Carefully work around the highlights in the eyes. Keeping them light preserves the expression without adding more colors.
Ears and tail
Soft pink, small shadows
Start with light pressure and deepen only the base of the ears or underside of the tail. Avoid a dark line around the entire outline.
Pendant
Sharpen your pencil first
There is very little space inside the kitten. A touch of pink in its ears and a few fine marks are enough; you can also leave it almost white, as in the example.
