A little character with plenty of attitude
Kawaii turtle in jeans coloring page
This turtle wears a tilted cap, a neckerchief, jeans and oversized sneakers. If you feel like coloring an expressive character in clothes, save the JPG and print it. I like to choose the cap color first: that makes it easier to pick a matching shade for the jeans.
The page already includes gray shading. Let it show through gentle layers of color, especially on the cap and clothing folds.

Do you picture classic blue jeans or a color nobody expects?

Test your colors first
These templates are separate from the drawing. Use the practice sheet to try layers and blends, and the blank chart to keep a swatch of each pencil.
Start with a simple combination
Which colors to choose for the turtle and its clothes
Three or four main colors are enough to separate the skin, shell and clothes without making the drawing look busy.
Skin and shell
Try light green on the face and legs. Use a more muted green or ochre for the shell so the two areas remain distinct.
Cap and neckerchief
The cap fills a large part of the image. Give it a standout color such as teal, red or violet, and repeat a touch in the neckerchief to connect the two pieces.
Jeans and sneakers
For blue jeans, keep the folds lighter and darken the seams and edges. Cream or gray sneakers keep the clothes from competing with the face.
These are starting ideas, not a required palette. If you prefer a pink turtle with green pants, go ahead. I would test the colors on a separate sheet before applying them to the page. You can also compare shades in the Colored Pencil Atlas.

How to work on the cap, eyes and jeans
There are large areas to start with and small details you can save for the end.
Start with the cap
Apply a gentle layer and preserve the lighter parts of the brim. Then deepen the dark grays that already define its curve; there is no need for strong pressure on the first pass.
Keep light in the eyes
The eyes are the center of the expression. Color around the white highlights and use a darker shade at the top to add depth.
Finish with the clothes and shoes
Follow the visible jeans folds with short strokes. Distinguish the soles from the rest of the sneakers, leaving laces and seams until you have chosen the main colors.
When coloring with children, share the choices: one person picks the cap and another the pants. Leave small areas uncolored if you want a simpler version.
Download and print the turtle
The page displays a WebP image for faster loading. The button saves the original 2480 × 3508 pixel JPG for printing.
Before printing, check the preview and choose “Fit to page” so the cap and sneakers are not cut off. Because the drawing includes gray shading, use a print setting that preserves the lines without making them too dark to color over.
